Proyect

The Decision of EACEA 2014-1441/001-001, under delegation of the European Commission, granted Professor Adolfo Martín Jiménez the Jean Monnet Chair “El efecto interno y externo del Derecho tributario de la Unión Europea” (Internal and External Effects of EU Tax Law”)  within the Erasmus + Programme.

The Chair shall spread and promote the study of EU Tax Law through a wide range of activities such as lectures, learning materials, events and research. It shall adopt a global perspective that includes the training of future agents and guarantees the access of those legal operators willing to address this Law area with an ever-growing presence in their professional practice.

The Project comprehends the following objectives:

  • To promote excellence in EU Law education and research.
  • To provide students and young professionals with a relevant understanding of EU Law both at the academic and at the professional level.
  • To promote dialogue between academics and policy-makers in order to enable a fruitful interaction between the different legal operators specializing in EU Tax Law.
  • To promote innovative teaching and research on EU Law. The project aims at highlighting the strong relationship between EU Law and Taxation Law, which far from being separate areas have shared and important field of interaction since the inception of the EEC to the present day. It also tries to increase the students’ awareness of the current importance of EU Law for all those opting for a career focused on Taxation Law, may that be as scholars, consultants, barristers or public officials. In the case of Academia, the aim is to promote research in non-secluded sectors that are in full swing and bear the greatest importance for the EU and third countries.
  • To improve the quality of professional training in EU subjects, as well as to increase the range of specialized educational activities for Legal professionals.
  • To encourage the commitment of young scholars towards the lecturing and research in European studies.
